Inconel® 625 (2.4856) is a low-carbon nickel-based alloy that includes chromium, molybdenum, and niobium. This material offers outstanding resistance to various forms of corrosion, including pitting, erosion, crevice, and intergranular corrosion. It is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorine. Inconel 625 performs well when exposed to mineral acids such as nitric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, and sulfuric acids, as well as organic acids and alkalis. The alloy is known for its excellent mechanical strength.
