The brass hexagon with material number 2.0401 is manufactured from a copper-zinc-lead alloy. Its composition includes approximately 57-59% copper, 36-40% zinc, and 2.5-3.5% lead. As the primary machining brass in Germany, CuZn39Pb3 is ideal for use on automatic machines. While the material is easy to punch and hot-form, its cold formability is limited due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. It offers high hardness and strength when cold-worked, but overall corrosion resistance is low.
