CuZn39Pb3 is the most commonly used machining brass in Germany, ideal for use on automatic machines. This material is easy to punch and process, though it has limited corrosion resistance. It can be hot-formed effectively and cold-formed to a limited extent due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. Cold forming significantly increases its hardness and strength.
