Titanium Grade 5 (material number 3.7165) is the most popular titanium alloy, containing approximately 88.74–91.0% titanium, 5.5–6.75% aluminum, 3.5–4.5% vanadium, and 0.015% hydrogen. Unlike pure titanium, this alloy can be age-hardened up to 25 mm thickness. It offers excellent hot formability and weldability, along with outstanding resistance to corrosion (including seawater). Titanium 3.7165 stands out for its high strength, good toughness, low density, and excellent resistance to crack formation and propagation.
