Titanium Grade 5, also known as 3.7165, is the most commonly used titanium alloy. It consists of approximately 88.74–91.0% titanium, 5.5–6.75% aluminum, 3.5–4.5% vanadium, and 0.015% hydrogen. This alloy is age-hardenable (up to 25 mm thickness) and is known for its excellent hot formability and weldability. It offers outstanding resistance to many corrosive environments and seawater, while also providing high strength and good toughness at a low density. Additionally, Titanium 3.7165 has exceptional resistance to crack initiation and propagation.
