Nitronic 60 is a high alloy austenitic chromium-nickel steel with addition of silicon (about 4%) and manganese (about 7%). The base for this steel is iron. The content of chromium and nickel is about 17% and about 8%, respectively. Alloy 218 has high wear resistance and good mechanical strength. The material is also very resistant to corrosion and offers good hardness in the annealed condition.
