Monel 400 is an alloy consisting of roughly 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% iron. Known for its high strength and outstanding resistance to corrosion, 2.4360 withstands stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties up to about 550°C. This material is highly resistant to fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, and their compounds, as well as seawater, a range of acids, and alkalis. Its excellent salt resistance makes it suitable for salt production. Unlike Monel K 500, Alloy 400 cannot be hardened.
