Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy containing about 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% iron. This material is known for its high strength and outstanding resistance to corrosion. Grade 2.4360 can withstand stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties up to approximately 550°C. It offers excellent resistance to fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, and their compounds, and is unaffected by seawater, acids, and alkalis. Thanks to its salt resistance, it is widely used in salt production. Unlike Monel K 500, Alloy 400 is not hardenable.
Evek GmbH offers top-quality nickel alloys at competitive prices. As a trusted Monel 400 supplier, we ensure secure and convenient delivery.
Monel 400, similar to Monel K 500, is primarily used in the chemical industry for components like heat exchangers and pressurized gas cylinders for fluorine. Its resistance to skin perspiration makes it suitable for manufacturing eyewear frames. Additionally, it is used in strings for electric guitars and other plucked instruments. Other common uses for Alloy 400 include:
- Processing of hydrofluoric acid
- Salt production
- Offshore engineering
- Turbine construction
- Shipbuilding
- Valves, pumps, and heat exchangers
