Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy containing about 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% iron. Known for its high strength, this material delivers outstanding resistance to corrosion. Grade 2.4360 resists stress corrosion cracking and maintains reliable mechanical properties up to 550°C. It is highly resistant to fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, and their compounds, and stands up well to seawater, various acids, and alkalis. Its excellent salt resistance makes it suitable for salt production. Unlike Monel K 500, Alloy 400 cannot be hardened.
