Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy containing about 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% iron. It features high strength and excellent resistance to corrosion. Material 2.4360 resists stress corrosion cracking and maintains strong mechanical properties up to approximately 550°C. This alloy stands up well to fluorine, hydrogen fluoride, and their compounds, as well as seawater, acids, and alkalis. Its superior salt resistance makes it ideal for use in salt production. Unlike Monel K 500, Alloy 400 is not hardenable.
At Evek GmbH, you can buy premium nickel alloys like Monel 400 at competitive prices. As a trusted supplier, we ensure safe and straightforward delivery.
Monel 400, similar to Monel K 500, is widely used in the chemical industry, such as in heat exchangers and pressurized gas cylinders for fluorine. Additional applications for Alloy 400 include:
- Hydrofluoric acid processing
- Salt production
- Offshore engineering
- Turbine construction
- Shipbuilding
- Valves, pumps, and heat exchangers
