Inconel® 718 is a precipitation-hardenable alloy primarily made of nickel, chromium, and iron, with added niobium, molybdenum, aluminum, and titanium for enhanced hardenability. In its solution-annealed state, 2.4668 is easy to shape and process. The alloy stands out for its outstanding corrosion resistance at both high and low temperatures, and is resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It also offers excellent creep strength, high fatigue strength, and is very weldable with good oxidation resistance up to 1000°C.
