Inconel® 718 is a precipitation-hardenable alloy composed mainly of nickel, chromium, and iron, with additional niobium, molybdenum, aluminum, and titanium. The presence of niobium, titanium, and aluminum allows for hardening. In its solution-annealed state, alloy 2.4668 is easily formed and processed. It stands out for its excellent corrosion resistance across a wide temperature range, is highly resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, and offers outstanding creep rupture and fatigue strength. This grade is also known for its superior weldability and oxidation resistance up to 1000°C.
