Inconel® 718 is a precipitation-hardenable alloy primarily composed of nickel, chromium, and iron, with niobium, molybdenum, aluminum, and titanium as additional elements. The presence of niobium, titanium, and aluminum allows this alloy to be hardened. In its solution-annealed state, 2.4668 is easy to form and process. This material also offers excellent corrosion resistance at both high and low temperatures, and is resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It features high creep strength, excellent fatigue strength, good weldability, and strong oxidation resistance up to 1000°C.
