The presence of niobium, titanium, and aluminum enables the alloy to be age-hardened. In its solution-annealed state (2.4668), the material is easy to form and process, and it offers outstanding corrosion resistance at both high and low temperatures. Inconel® 718 resists pitting and stress corrosion cracking, possesses excellent creep and fatigue strength, is highly weldable, and maintains good oxidation resistance up to 1000°C.
