It provides excellent resistance in sulphur-containing, oxidizing, and reducing environments, and resists oxidation and carburization up to approximately 1000°C. The alloy is easy to process after solution annealing, offers enhanced creep rupture strength at high temperatures, and can be cold-formed up to 6 mm thickness. Welding is possible with all common processes.1.4876 is mainly used in furnace construction (such as furnace muffles) and the chemical industry (for hydrogen production).
