Description:

Copper square bar with the material designation Cu-ETP is an electrolytically refined and oxygen-containing copper. The copper content is min. 99.9%. The oxygen content is max. 0.04%. This means the material is not suitable for welding due to hydrogen embrittlement. The material has excellent cold- and hot-forming properties and can be excellently soft-soldered. Hard soldering in a reducing atmosphere as well as machining are not recommended.

Thanks to its high electrical conductivity and high thermal conductivity, copper round bar is used in heating technology (heating elements, heat exchangers), electrical machines (electric motors, chokes/inductors) and components (terminals, contact carriers).

Square bar is widely used for:

• Heating and cooling technology (heating and cooling components);
• Construction (as decoration for interior cladding and facades);
• Electrical engineering and apparatus construction;
• Shipbuilding and mechanical engineering;
• Electrical conductors;
• Wire windings and chokes/inductors.

Copper square bar has the following properties:

• excellent cold- and hot-forming properties;
• excellent processing properties;
• excellent soft-solderability;
• good corrosion resistance;
• not suitable for welding;
• not hard-solderable in a reducing atmosphere;
• poor machinability.
