The copper square bar, designated as Cu-ETP, is made from electrolytically refined, oxygen-containing copper with a minimum copper content of 99.9% and a maximum oxygen content of 0.04%. Due to its composition, it is not suitable for welding, as it may become brittle when exposed to hydrogen. However, this material offers excellent formability both in cold and hot conditions and is ideal for soft soldering. Brazing in a reducing atmosphere and machining are not recommended. Thanks to its outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity, copper square bar is commonly used in heating and cooling technology (such as radiators and heat exchangers), electrical machines (like electric motors and coils), and various components including terminals and contact carriers. It is also widely utilized in building construction for decorative elements, in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, and for applications involving electric lines and wire windings. Key characteristics of this copper square bar include superior formability, excellent processability, good solderability, and resistance to corrosion. However, it is not suitable for sweating, cannot be brazed in a reducing atmosphere, and has limited machinability.
