The copper square bar, designated as Cu-ETP, is made from high-purity, electrolytically refined copper with a minimum copper content of 99.9% and a maximum oxygen content of 0.04%. Due to its composition, this material is not suitable for welding, as it may become brittle when exposed to hydrogen. However, it offers excellent cold and hot formability, outstanding solderability, and good corrosion resistance. It is not recommended for brazing in reducing atmospheres or for extensive machining. With its high electrical and thermal conductivity, the copper square bar is widely used in heating and cooling systems (such as radiators and heat exchangers), electrical engineering (motors, coils, and terminals), construction (for decorative purposes and facades), shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, electric lines, and wire windings. Key properties include smooth surface (may show minor handling marks), semi-hard/hard condition, and superior processability. While it excels in many applications, it is not suitable for sweating or certain types of brazing, and has limited machinability.
