This copper strip is produced from oxygen-bearing copper, specifically the Cu-ETP grade, which is electrolytically refined. It offers outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity. However, due to its oxygen content and susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement, it is not suitable for welding. The material is ideal for both cold and hot forming processes and displays good chemical resistance. It stands up well to sea air, potable and service water, as well as non-oxidizing acids and alkalis. However, it is not resistant to ammonia, halides, cyanides, oxidizing acids, or seawater. The copper strip cannot be machined.
