The copper strip offered here is made from oxygen-bearing copper, specifically electrolytically refined Cu-ETP. This material is highly conductive both electrically and thermally. Due to its oxygen content and risk of hydrogen embrittlement, it is not suitable for welding. It is, however, excellent for both cold and hot forming and displays strong chemical resistance. The copper tape withstands exposure to sea air, drinking and service water, and non-oxidizing acids and alkalis, but is not resistant to ammonia, halides, cyanides, oxidizing acids, or seawater. This copper grade is not machinable.
