2.4952 is an austenitic, high-temperature nickel-chromium alloy. In addition to manganese, chromium, and cobalt, it includes alloying elements such as aluminum and titanium, which make the alloy hardenable. Nimonic 80a offers excellent oxidation resistance as well as resistance to pitting, crevice, and surface corrosion. It is insoluble in alkaline solutions and highly resistant to acids. This nickel alloy maintains high tensile and creep strength at temperatures up to 815°C and is noted for its creep resistance.
