    Description:

    1.4310 is essentially a more compact version of 1.4301; due to its high chromium content and limited nickel content, it creates a metastable austenitic structure that hardens very quickly during cold forming. Since this steel is used to manufacture spring components, the final microstructure contains a significant amount of shear-induced martensite and, as such, is relatively magnetic.
