They offer good corrosion resistance and a tensile strength between 600-950 MPa. The material can be welded at temperatures up to 200°C and forged between 1200°C and 900°C. With a density of 7.9 g/cm³, this stainless steel is well-suited for spring components due to its high chromium and limited nickel content. The structure hardens quickly during cold forming and develops a magnetic property due to shear-induced martensite.
