Grade 5 titanium (material number 3.7165) is the most commonly used titanium alloy. Its composition includes approximately 88.74–91.0% titanium, 5.5–6.75% aluminum, 3.5–4.5% vanadium, and 0.015% hydrogen. Unlike pure titanium, this alloy can be hardened up to a thickness of 25 mm. It offers excellent hot formability, weldability, and outstanding resistance to corrosion, including in seawater environments. Titanium 3.7165 is known for its high strength, low density, toughness, and remarkable resistance to crack initiation and propagation.
