Its composition includes about 88.74 - 91.0% titanium, 5.5 - 6.75% aluminum, 3.5 - 4.5% vanadium, and trace amounts of hydrogen. Unlike pure titanium, grade 5 can be hardened up to a thickness of 25 mm. This alloy offers excellent hot formability and weldability, along with high resistance to corrosion—even in marine environments. It is known for its high strength, good toughness, low density, and exceptional resistance to crack initiation and propagation.
