Its composition includes approximately 88.74–91.0% titanium, 5.5–6.75% aluminum, 3.5–4.5% vanadium, and 0.015% hydrogen. This alloy is identified by material number 3.7165. Unlike pure titanium, grade 5 titanium can be hardened up to 25 mm thickness. It offers excellent hot formability and weldability, along with outstanding resistance to corrosion—including in marine environments. The material stands out for its high strength, good toughness, low density, and superior resistance to crack formation and propagation.
