    Grade 5 titanium (material number 3.7165) is the most commonly used titanium alloy, consisting of approximately 88.74–91.0% titanium, 5.5–6.75% aluminum, 3.5–4.5% vanadium, and 0.015% hydrogen. Unlike pure titanium, grade 5 titanium can be hardened up to 25 mm in thickness. It offers excellent hot formability, weldability, and outstanding resistance to corrosion—including in seawater environments. The alloy is known for its high strength, good toughness, low density, and superior resistance to crack initiation and propagation.
