Known for its high tensile strength, this material provides outstanding resistance to corrosion, seawater, many acids, and alkalis. Monel® 400 maintains good mechanical properties up to about 550°C and resists stress corrosion cracking. It is particularly resistant to hydrofluoric acid, fluorine, and their compounds.
