Material 2.4858 is a fully austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy stabilized with titanium, and also contains copper and molybdenum. This alloy offers outstanding resistance to reducing, oxidizing, and organic acids, as well as excellent performance against alkalis and chloride alkalis. Incoloy® 825 is particularly resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The material can be easily formed both hot and cold, and is suitable for machining.
We supply material 2.4858 at competitive prices and ship worldwide as a trusted provider of nickel alloys. You can rely on our expertise and service.
Incoloy® 825 is widely used in the chemical industry, especially in systems exposed to acids such as phosphoric and sulphuric acid. It is also commonly found in offshore applications like seawater desalination and salt processing. Additional uses include:
- Food industry
- Oil and gas extraction
- Pickling equipment (e.g. pumps, filters, agitators)
- Apparatus engineering (pressure vessels up to 425°C)
Key properties of Incoloy® 825 include:
- High resistance to reducing, oxidizing, and organic acids
- Good resistance to alkalis and chloride alkalis
- Exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking
