This brass square bar is manufactured from material 2.0401, also known as Ms58 or CuZn39Pb3. It is a copper-zinc-lead alloy with up to 59% copper, 1.7–2.8% lead, and the rest tin. The alloy is easy to hot form but not suitable for cold forming. It is corrosion resistant and can be polished to a high shine. Thanks to its excellent machinability, it is ideal for automatic processing. Soft soldering is the recommended joining method, and the rod is suitable for resistance welding; gas welding is not recommended.
