This brass square bar is made from 2.0401 material, also known as Ms58 or CuZn39Pb3. It is a copper-zinc-lead alloy containing up to 59% copper and 1.7-2.8% lead, with the remainder being tin. 2.0401 is ideal for hot forming, while cold forming is not recommended. It is corrosion resistant, offers excellent machinability, and can be mechanically polished to a high shine. This alloy is best joined using soft soldering techniques and is suitable for resistance welding; gas welding is not advised.
