This brass square bar is manufactured from material 2.0401, also known as Ms58 or CuZn39Pb3. It is a copper-zinc-lead alloy containing up to 59% copper and between 1.7% and 2.8% lead, with the remainder being tin. The 2.0401 alloy is ideal for hot forming, but less suitable for cold forming. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and can be easily polished mechanically. Its outstanding machinability and suitability for automatic machining make it a preferred choice for many applications. Soft soldering is the recommended joining method, while this brass bar is only suitable for resistance welding and not for gas welding.
