Grade 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%), which stabilizes the material and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at high temperatures.
This stainless steel maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance both at elevated and sub-zero temperatures, making it highly versatile. Typical applications range from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The grade can be used in dry air temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is especially suitable for applications at temperatures up to around 900°C. It offers a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against corrosion in aqueous environments.
