    Rhenium is a rare transition metal known for its exceptional hardness, high density, ductility, and one of the highest melting points after tungsten. It resists non-oxidizing acids and is easily formed through processes like deep drawing, bending, or pressing. Rhenium also offers excellent weldability and forgeability, remains stable in air, and is only slightly soluble in oxidizing acids. Notably, rhenium becomes superconducting at temperatures below 1.7 K.
