3.7164, also known as titanium grade 5 (Ti6Al4V), is an age-hardenable titanium alloy suitable for thicknesses up to 25 mm. Its composition includes approximately 88.74-91% titanium, 5.5-6.75% aluminum, and 3.5-4.5% vanadium. This alloy stands out for its high strength, toughness, and ductility, as well as excellent fatigue resistance—even in humid or marine environments. It is easy to weld, hot form, and machine, and provides outstanding corrosion resistance against a variety of corrosive agents. The maximum operating temperature is around 400°C.
