Titanium Grade 5, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is the most widely used titanium alloy, making up nearly half of all titanium applications worldwide. Its composition includes around 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, with max. 0.25% iron and 0.2% oxygen. This alloy is known for its outstanding strength, low elastic modulus, high corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and suitability for heat treatment. Aluminum and vanadium additions enhance the material’s hardness and improve both its physical and mechanical properties.

You can easily purchase Grade 5 titanium in the Evek GmbH online shop, where we guarantee premium quality and worldwide hassle-free shipping.

Ti6Al4V is especially valued in the aerospace industry and is also commonly used in both onshore and offshore applications. Other key uses for alloy 3.7165 include:

  • Engine components
  • High-performance automotive parts
  • Gas turbines
  • Marine engineering

Titanium Grade 5 offers the following advantages:

  • Excellent strength, toughness, and ductility
  • Superior fatigue resistance, even in humid environments
  • Good weldability, hot formability, and machinability
  • Outstanding corrosion resistance
