Haynes 188 is a cobalt-based heat-resistant alloy containing approximately 40% cobalt. This high cobalt content contributes to its exceptional temperature resistance and magnetic properties. Alloy 2.4683 also includes about 22% nickel and chromium and 15% tungsten, offering outstanding oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C. It is suitable for use in sulphur-rich environments and demonstrates excellent ductility, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and impact strength. While Alloy 188 cannot be age-hardened, it is highly suitable for cold forming processes.
