Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy composed of about 65% nickel, 33% copper, and 2% iron. Known for its high tensile strength, this material offers outstanding resistance to corrosion, seawater, most acids, and alkalis. Monel 400 maintains strong mechanical properties at temperatures up to 550°C and resists stress corrosion cracking. It is particularly resistant to hydrofluoric acid, fluorine, and their compounds, and cannot be hardened through heat treatment.
