Grade 1.4841 is an austenitic stainless steel known for its high nickel content, which ensures excellent resistance to high temperatures without structural changes. Its elevated nickel and chromium levels also deliver strong corrosion resistance.
With a silicon content of 1.5–2.00%, this material offers scale resistance up to about 1150°C in air. It is well-suited for welding, forging, and cold forming processes.
AISI 314 (1.4841) can be formed at temperatures between 980°C and 1150°C. Welding generally does not require preheating or post-weld heat treatment, and common methods include TIG, MIG, and arc welding.
Typical applications for 1.4841 round bars include:
- Apparatus engineering
- Automotive industry
- Chemical industry
- Petroleum industry
- Mechanical engineering
- Furnace construction
Main characteristics of 1.4841 include:
