Aluminum improves scaling resistance, while vanadium enhances high-temperature and tensile strength. Grade 5 titanium can be hardened, is easy to hot form, welds well, and is highly resistant to salt water and marine environments. It offers high strength, toughness, ductility, and excellent biocompatibility, making it suitable for medical applications. The alloy also maintains good creep resistance up to about 300°C.Thanks to its properties, Ti6Al4V Grade 5 is widely used as an implant material in medicine and for manufacturing high-strength aerospace components such as compressor blades, housings, and engine fasteners.
