Haynes 188 is a heat-resistant alloy based on cobalt, containing about 40% cobalt, which provides excellent temperature stability and magnetic conductivity. The alloy also includes around 22% nickel and chromium, and about 15% tungsten. It offers outstanding oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C and withstands sulphur-containing environments. This material is known for its good ductility, strong corrosion resistance, and high resistance to wear and impact. While Alloy 188 is not age-hardenable, it is well-suited for cold forming processes.
