Haynes 188 is a heat-resistant, cobalt-based alloy containing approximately 40% cobalt, which provides high temperature stability and excellent magnetic properties. It also includes about 22% nickel and chromium, and 15% tungsten. This alloy offers outstanding oxidation resistance up to 1100°C, as well as resistance to sulphur-containing environments. Haynes 188 is known for its good ductility, corrosion resistance, and resistance to abrasion and impact. It is not age-hardenable, but is highly suitable for cold forming processes.
