Super Invar® is an enhanced version of the Invar alloy, where some of the nickel is replaced with cobalt. This adjustment results in an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion at moderate temperatures, making it highly stable dimensionally.

The alloy is easily machinable using conventional methods, similar to standard Invar alloys. It tends to form long, stringy chips during machining, so chip breaking is necessary. The material is known for its "rubbery" texture rather than hardness, and it is best processed with a positive feed at low speeds. Super Invar® is ductile, allowing it to be formed and welded using standard techniques, and its good ductility enables cold forming as well.
