2.4602 is a nickel-based alloy with high corrosion resistance, containing nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten, as well as very low carbon and silicon. Known as Hastelloy® C22, this material withstands a wide range of corrosive environments, including mineral and organic acids, and is also highly resistant to seawater. It is not susceptible to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, or pitting.
Hastelloy® C22 tubes are available at Evek GmbH’s online shop, where you can find high-quality nickel alloys at attractive prices.
Thanks to its excellent resistance to hydrogen chloride and moist chlorine gas, Hastelloy® C22 is widely used in the chemical industry. It is also popular in environmental technology for wastewater and waste incineration plants. Other applications for 2.4602 include:
- Heat exchangers
- Flue gas desulfurization systems
- Pulp and paper industry (bleach tanks)
- Reactors for acetic acid production
Key characteristics of Hastelloy® C22:
- Extremely resistant to numerous corrosive media (both mineral and organic acids)
- Excellent resistance to seawater
- Not prone to crevice, stress, or pitting corrosion
- Very easy to weld
