1.3912 is an austenitic alloy made up of about 61% iron and 36% nickel, with the remainder consisting of silicon, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, cobalt, chromium, and carbon. This material is known for its low thermal expansion, excellent ductility and toughness, and maintains good strength at low temperatures. Its thermal expansion coefficient can be further decreased by cold working. Below its Curie temperature, 1.3912 is ferromagnetic; above this temperature, it becomes non-magnetic.
Evek GmbH is your trusted supplier of 1.3912 tubes, offering high-quality nickel-based alloys at competitive prices.
Invar 36 is widely used in the production, storage, and transport of liquefied gases, as well as in measuring and control devices. It is a preferred material for manufacturing thermostats for temperature measurement below 200°C. Additional applications include:
- Manufacture of OLED displays
- Aircraft construction (CFRP components)
- Satellite construction (frames, brackets, housings for electronic units)
- Optical and laser systems (support elements for electromagnetic lenses)
- Cryogenic components
- Automotive industry (various parts)
Key properties of Invar 36:
- Very low thermal expansion
- High ductility and toughness
- Good strength at low temperatures
- Cold formable
- Ferromagnetic below Curie temperature
- Non-magnetic above Curie temperature
