Alloy pt3v is a ductile titanium alloy with high strength and corrosion resistant properties. The most important alloying elements in this grade of titanium are aluminum and vanadium. Other impurities are zirconium, iron, oxygen, silicon, carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen.

The strength and corrosion properties are positively influenced by the main alloying elements aluminum (3.5-5 %) and vanadium (1.2-2.5 %).

Titanium pt3v is easy to form when hot. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, except by complete or incomplete annealing to reduce the metal stresses. The alloy can be welded well and without restrictions using all welding processes, whereby the strength of the weld seam is not impaired.
