Its composition includes a maximum of 0.08% carbon, 17-19% chromium, 9-11% nickel, and about 1% titanium. According to GOST-5632, the material is primarily iron (about 65%) with chromium and nickel as key alloying elements. Chromium provides excellent corrosion resistance, while nickel ensures strong mechanical properties and outstanding heat resistance. The titanium addition improves resistance to intergranular corrosion and deformation, though it slightly reduces machinability.This alloy is highly stable at elevated temperatures and is easily weldable with all standard methods. Solution annealing may be performed at +1020 to +1120°C. The steel also offers good chemical resistance to organic acids and can be used in aggressive environments including salt water.
