The material 1.4762 is currently the most commonly used substitute for the ferritic grade H24JS. In addition to high temperatures, compared with nickel-containing austenitic grades, steel has resistance to environments with sulphur compounds and reducing gases, as well as dimensional stability.

The ferritic structure significantly reduces creep resistance, formability and weldability, while at the same time increasing the material’s thermal conductivity and brittleness at high temperatures.
