The material 1.4547 is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with an extremely high nickel, chromium, and molybdenum content.

This material contains a lot of molybdenum and, thanks to the molybdenum it contains, it is very corrosion-resistant. It is manufactured for use in harsh environments such as seawater. 1.4547 is particularly resistant to halogen-containing environments such as hydrochloric acid and contaminated sulfuric acid. It has better corrosion resistance and mechanical strength than many standard stainless steels. It is extremely resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

1.4547 is generally anti-magnetic, but as with many stainless materials, it can develop a certain level of magnetization after cold forming or welding. It is especially preferred where a high level of corrosion resistance is required. The material 1.4547 is a special alloy that is often used in parts that operate in salt water, in facilities where food and chemical processes are applied, parts in contact with cellulose, sulfur filter and sulfur cleaning parts, oil and gas production platforms, and brine treatment plants.
