Material 1.4762 is currently the most commonly used alternative to the ferritic grade H24JS. Unlike nickel-containing austenitic steels, it offers resistance to sulfur-containing environments and reducing gases, as well as excellent dimensional stability at high temperatures.
Due to its ferritic structure, this alloy has lower creep strength, formability, and weldability, but it provides higher thermal conductivity and increased brittleness at elevated temperatures.
